This month’s continuing formation will be on the chapter in Catch Me a Rainbow entitled: “Here I Am Lord”. It focuses on commitment.
Your commitment to our Apostolate of Prayer has wonderful results. Sometimes we know what the results are, other times only God knows the effects your prayers have had.
As you may remember, a few months ago I spoke to you about a student of mine who had chronic hiccups. She was afflicted for over two months. She is now free of this disorder.
This young woman was so grateful for your prayers, and for those offered by members of her own church, that she wrote the poem below.
Her poem reflects to me, not only her gratitude, but a true sense of “Here I am Lord, do your will in me.”
May God bless each of you for all the good you do!
I’d first like to thank the Lord above…
I don’t know if it was punishment
Or strictly out of love.
But he did it for a reason
And we may never know why…
I’m just happy it’s over ‘cause
It was a very rough ride.
The pain is gone; my strength is here…
My health is back, and gone are the tears.
Along with the embarrassment
Along with the shame…
The clouds have cleared, and gone is the rain.
The sun is out; the day is new…
For your prayers and support
I’d like to say, “Thank you!”
